Present Day (How many are there now?): In 1962 Lays started selling chips in Canada, and today all Lay’s chips are made with potatoes grown only in Canada. https://www.lays.ca/about-us

In regards to current chip brands, like Pringles, Ruffles, Cape Cod's, Ms. Vicki's, Herr's, etc. Most companies who are branching out to make different potato chips separate themselves from Lay by either using new ingredients to make them, or having special flavors (like Flamin Hot Cheetos).
